An ancient
medicine, practised in a village built for it.
Vaidyagrama — village of healers — is a
NABH-accredited Ayurveda healing village built from the ground up in 2008
for one purpose: to practise classical Ayurveda exactly as it was intended.
No shortcuts. No spa menus. Just a team of traditional vaidyas, 80 rooms,
and the unhurried medicine of a village designed to heal.

The Village · No. 01
A village that exists only to heal.
In 2008, on the quiet outskirts of Coimbatore, a group of vaidyas and physicians
built something rare: not a hotel with an Ayurveda menu, not a spa with Sanskrit
signage, but an actual vaidyagrama — a village
of healers. Every building, every room, every pathway was laid out according to
Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of spatial harmony. The intention was
always clinical, and always patient-first.
The name is a plain description of what it is. Vaidya
means healer. Grama means village. What was built here
is exactly that — 80 rooms, a resident team of traditional vaidyas, and a campus
designed to remove every obstacle between a person and their healing.
"Authentic Ayurveda is truly learned — and truly practised — in the experiential mode."
Today, Vaidyagrama holds NABH accreditation — the National Accreditation Board for
Hospitals, India's highest benchmark for patient care quality. The village draws guests
from the United States, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Gulf, and across India.
Some come for a week's rejuvenation. Others stay for months of classical Panchakarma
or chronic disease management. The vaidyas see each guest personally, write each
protocol individually, and see it through.
The Western Ghats hills are visible from the village. The food is prescribed, not
chosen. The pace is the vaidya's, not yours. That is not a complaint the guests make —
it is, almost to a person, the thing they say they needed most.

Third-generation healers practising a living tradition.
"Ayurveda is truly learned — and truly heals — only in the experiential mode. The village was built for that."
— On the founding intention of Vaidyagrama
— 01
A classical approach
Vaidyagrama practises Ayurveda as it was written — not as a wellness add-on to
travel, but as a complete system of medicine. Every programme begins with a personal
consultation, every protocol is written individually, and every day of treatment
is supervised by a vaidya. No two programmes at Vaidyagrama are the same.

NABH Accredited
The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals recognises Vaidyagrama for the
quality of its physicians, the authenticity of its treatments, and the rigour
of its patient care standards. NABH accreditation is India's highest benchmark
for medical facilities — and Vaidyagrama holds it.

Programmes · No. 03
Five healing programmes. None of them rushed.
Every programme at Vaidyagrama begins with a personal consultation — the vaidya assesses constitution, season, history, and purpose, and builds the protocol from there. Durations below are typical; the final plan is always the vaidya's. No published price list: each enquiry receives a personal recommendation and a tailored proposal in USD or EUR.

Panchakarma
21 nights minimum · physician-led
The classical five-action purification — Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya,
Raktamokshana — prescribed and supervised by the vaidya from day one. Reserved
for guests whose constitution and time permit a full traditional cleanse.
Not a wellness package: a clinical programme with deep classical roots.
A systematic reset for a body and mind that have been over-stretched. Daily
oil therapies, prescribed diet, regulated sleep, and the slow influence of a
calm village. Guests typically arrive overloaded and leave with a different
sense of what their natural baseline should feel like.
For guests with conditions — musculoskeletal, metabolic, neurological, dermal —
where conventional treatment has reached its limit. The vaidyas build a
multi-modal protocol from classical Ayurveda, diet therapy, yoga, and life
coaching. Duration is set by the vaidya, not the guest's calendar.
Yoga, pranayama, and meditation practised daily within the village's natural
rhythm — sessions at dawn, integration through the day, life coaching from the
Sampath team for the inner work. Can be taken standalone or woven into a broader
healing programme.
For practitioners, students, and serious seekers — a structured immersion in
authentic Ayurveda knowledge led by the village's senior vaidyas. Courses are
designed individually, available at introductory and advanced levels, and held
in the same environment where the medicine is practised every day. Experiential,
not academic. Enquiry from international students is particularly welcome.
Vaidyagrama's 80 rooms are designed for healing, not display. Calm proportions, natural materials, cross-ventilation, and the unhurried quiet of a village where nothing competes with your programme. All rooms open to the village grounds. None have televisions.
Daily morning session led by the village's yoga teacher. Posture, breath, and the stillness before the day's treatment work begins.
7:30
Prescribed breakfast
A light, individually prescribed vegetarian meal from the village kitchen — the first medicine of the day.
9:00
Treatment
The day's Ayurveda therapies — abhyanga, shirodhara, podikizhi, basti, nasya — according to the vaidya's protocol for each guest's programme.
12:30
Lunch
The principal meal of the day — cooked sattvic-vegetarian in the village kitchen and served according to each guest's dosha and programme stage.
15:00
Vaidya consultation & rest
A daily review with the vaidya — programme adjustments, observations, questions — followed by unstructured rest time on the grounds.
17:30
Satsang & life coaching
Group sessions with Dr J.M. Sampath and Dr Kalpana Sampath — talks, reflection, and the inner work that accompanies the outer healing.
19:30
Dinner & silence
The lightest meal — warm, simple, prescribed. The kitchen closes early. The village sleeps early. The body does its deepest work in the quiet.
The Grounds · No. 06
The village beyond the treatment room.
Vaidyagrama was designed Vastu-wise — the orientation of buildings, the flow of pathways, the presence of trees and open sky — all deliberate. The grounds are part of the healing. Walking them slowly at dusk, or sitting in morning light before yoga, is not incidental to the programme.
The kitchen at Vaidyagrama is entirely sattvic vegetarian — prescribed individually
by the vaidyas, aligned with each guest's constitution, programme stage, and the
season. Meals are not chosen from a menu; they are prepared according to a protocol.
Fresh ingredients, traditional preparations, measured proportions of ghee, spice
and herb — cooked and served at the times the body is most ready to receive them.
Food here is not a comfort. It is a tool. And the guests, almost without exception,
come to find it more satisfying than anything they have eaten in years.
